History
In the Genroku era (1688-1704), the first chief priest of Tafukuji Temple in San Toyama encouraged Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu, the lord of Kawagoe Castle, to cultivate tea trees, which led to the spread of Sayama tea. Since then, it has been known as “tea of wealth”.
Sayama tea is considered a higher grade tea and easy to drink for everyone. As the tea is of higher grade, brewing of the tea is to be handled delicately in terms of its water temperature. Thus you can enjoy the true taste of Sayama tea. It’s the most popular tea in our EDOYA KOUTOUEN garden at Miyoshi city.
